Have a car-free day in the hills and bring your bike too! If you are staying in or arround the Brecon Beacons, why not have a day with a difference?
Beacons Bus is a network of specially commissioned buses that runs from 10 major towns and cities taking you into and around the National Park. Whether youre planning a trip to the Brecon Beacons or are already here, Beacons Bus is ideal for a car free, stress free day out. It operates every Sunday and Bank Holiday from 25 May - 28 September in 2008.
Beacons Bus runs on Sundays and Bank Holidays in the summer months from all sorts of places in Mid & South Wales as well as Herefordshire. It takes you into and around the National Park to return that evening. Buses convene in the centre of Brecon enabling you to get off one bus and get onto another going to where you want to spend the day.
If you are staying in the area, pick up Beacons Bus en route to Brecon or park in the longstay car park next to the bus interchange..
In 2008 there is another day added to the service so that it runs from 25th May (Whit Bank Holiday Sunday) until 28th Sept. There are new routes and even more interesting places to go to. Blaenavon and the Big Pit Mining Muzeum is particularly well served. In addition we have moved to the brand new Bus Interchange in Brecon where we hope we will be able to give an even better service.
Get a copy of the booklet of mountain walks that can be achieved using Beacons Bus - no more turning back half way through the day or covering old ground. Get the bus to pick you up at the other end!
